A letter exchanged between PAFFERAL and Government Printer.
Paffrel organization has written to the government printer enquiring the security situation of the department of government printing during the printing of ballot papers.
Paffrel Executive Director Rohana Hetti Arachchi told our news team that his organization has received reports about new recruitment to the Confidential Printing Unit of the government printing department.
However, in his reply to the Paffrel Organization, government printer Lalith de Silva has informed that the printing of ballot papers are done with confidentiality.
The government printer also stated with responsibility that no outsiders have been recruited to the confidential printing unit.
He further stated in his letter addressed to Paffrel that the operation of the confidential printing unit is guarded by the printing department security unit in collaboration with police under the supervision of a CCTV camera system.
