The Election Secretariat stated that election observers would be deployed to monitor postal vote marking of the Presidential election on the 23rd and 24th of this month.

The distribution of ballot applications for postal voters started on the 15th of this month.

A senior Election Secretariat spokesman told our news team the distribution of ballot applications is carried out.

626 thousand 715 government servants applied for postal voting in the forthcoming presidential election.

However Election Commissioner’s office stated earlier that nearly 85 thousand applications were rejected.

Accordingly, a senior spokesman from the election secretariat said that steps have been taken to distribute the balance 541 thousand 831 postal ballot applications to the qualified voters.
