A complaint lodged against former UNP General Secretary at the HRC
The Common Opposition states that they have lodged a complaint at the Human Rights Commission stating that according to the recommendations of the Presidential election act, after a presidential election is called former UNP General Secretary Thissa Aththanayaka assuming a post in the government is an inducement.
UNP MP Wijedasa Rajapakse stated this while addressing a media briefing held at the Opposition Leaders office.
Meanwhile, Minister Dallas Allahaperuma states that the SLFP Central Committee rejects the invitation extended by Common candidate Maithripala Sirisena to the President to come for an open debate.
Joining the media briefing, secretary of the First Front Nandana Gunathilaka stated that Government Minsters and MP’s insult Common Candidate Maithripala Sirisena in order to de-motivate him.
Meanwhile, Colombo District MP R Dumindha Sliva addressing a rally held in Kolonnawa stated that it is the responsibility of all to gather around the leader who eradicated terrorism and achieved peace.
