Election Manifesto of President Mahinda Rajapaksa launched. -Video
President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s 3rd election manifesto was released this morning at the BMICH in Colombo.
The manifesto which is named as Mahinda Chintana, the way to win the world was handed over to religious leaders and the leaders of government coalition.
The manifesto is comprised of 20 sections with the inclusion of wide political reforms, global model about national defence and a society full of moral values.
It has proposed to form a parliament as a constitutional formation board intending to introduce a new Constitution.
A citizen consultation board will also be appointed to assist to the constitutional board.
The way to win the world manifesto has also included in its proposed constitution, the executive presidency, election system, rule of law and good governance.
It has also proposed to take different actions to fully cease the underworld and heroin menace including setting up of a special unit with the assistance of the army.
Another proposal is to amend relevant law and strengthen law to protect children and women and safeguard them from harassment.
Introducing an insurance scheme for the private sector, assurance of an own home for the public sector workers and a new service etiquette are also among the new election manifesto of the president.
Creating 150 thousand jobs for the youth within the next 5 years and starting the country’s first electric train between Colombo and Kataragama are several other proposals in the 3rd version of Mahinda Chintana.
