The Disaster Management Centre says that the adverse weather that had affected 22 districts in the island is by now subsiding.

However reports say that rain prevails in the central hills.

Vehicular transport has been impeded on the Badulla – Aella – Wallawaya road due to rock slips and earth slips consequent upon the heavy rain that occurred last night.

The Disaster Management Centre said that due to rock slips on the road in the vicinity of the 11th mile post, vehicular transport had been impeded.

In addition, Disaster Management Deputy Director Pradeep Kodipillai said that Buduruvagala had been mildly inundated as a result of the spill-over of Kirindi Oya in Waellawaya.

The meteorology department states that Mainly fair and sunny weather condition will prevail over the island.

However, few showers can be expected along the South-western coastal areas in the morning.
