Fifty teams take the challenge of a Stilt fishing and Toddy Tapping competition
‘Red Bull Levels’, a unique event organized in partnership with Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, saw over 250 participants who competed in an obstacle course conceptualized around the native traditions of stilt fishing and toddy tapping. The event was held on the 21st of February at Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Bentota Beach.

“Bentota Beach Hotel is a signature resort where the river meets the sea, and is the perfect location to hold this event,” continued Dileep.
The participating teams made their way through stilts of various heights using the tight ropes drawn from one stilt to another. Participants were also expected to fish for a marker from a fishing net in the ocean and place it in the fishing pouch before moving on to the next stilt. Each team member was required to complete the course in a relay style format, in an allocated time of ten minutes. Teams progressed on a time trial basis into more challenging rounds with the number of stilts increasing along the way.
The fastest team to finish the circuit in the final round which included a 5 stilt setup walked away with the bragging rights of being the official winners of the first ever Red Bull Levels at Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts.
