According to Former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Indonesia, Anoja Wijeyesekera, the total value of trade between Sri Lanka and Indonesia is 633 million US dollars, and this amount could be increased up-to one billion US dollars, by promoting bilateral trade.

Delivering the key note address at the Sri Lanka- Indonesia Business Council's 22nd Annual General Meeting she said the balance of trade could be increased by focusing more on exports to Indonesia.

It was also stated that Indonesia being the members of the ASEAN region is the largest regional economy in the world, and therefore, having more bi- lateral trade relationships will benefit both countries immensely.
