The group of vendors in the Homagama market complex refrained from business transactions yesterday (20) stating that spaces were not allocated for them at the new market complex which was opened on last Sunday.

The vendors claim that the Homagama Provincial council officials had asked the vendors to come yesterday evening to allocate stalls in the market for them but the officials had not come.

This boycott was carried out in protest of their absence to resolve the matter yesterday and the group of vendors staged a protest march   displaying placards and slogans towards the provincial council and remained within the gates of the provincial council demanding solutions.

however the vendors have decided to resume the protest today at9 am and discuss with official since the officials were not present in the council yesterday.
