Vegetable prices seem to have dropped as large stocks of vegetables from Jaffna reach the Dambulla Economic Center today.

Traders stated that about 50000 kilograms of vegetables of different varieties were received from Jaffna.

Price of one kilogram of carrot is expected to fall from 60 rupees from previous price 210 rupees, while each kilo of beat root, potato, beans and egg plant will be priced 100 rupees, 80 rupees, 70 rupees and 50 rupees respectively.

High-priced green chilies will be at a 300 rupee per kilo low compared to previous 800 rupees while a kilo of bitter gourd can be afforded at 70 rupees.
