The Japanese Government is positive about the changes that have taken place in the country in recently, Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva said after a meeting with the Japan Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Hitoshi Kikawada on Tuesday (22).
Dr. de Silva also said that President Maithripala Sirisena had been invited to the G7 summit, planned to be held during the summer in Japan.
“A rare honor and a first for Sri Lanka. He will participate in the G7 outreach sessions with a few other invited leaders from emerging nations,” the statement read, ending with “Soon we will see a major Japanese infrastructure related activity in Sri Lanka.
