Due to a new Instagram update, the order of photos and videos in the feed would no longer be chronological, but based on ‘the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content’.
This update by the social media created an uproar among its users who did not want their older or not visited posts to disappear.
According to foreign media number of popular influencers and brands on Instagram begged their followers on Monday to turn on notifications, which alert users each time their account creates a post.
The flurry of panic on the photo-and-video-sharing app appears to have been sparked by rumors that the app would roll out its algorithmic feed tomorrow, replacing feeds’ current reverse chronological order.
“We’re listening and we assure you nothing is changing with your feed right now. We promise to let you know when changes roll out broadly,” the company announced on their twitter page.
