3 tons of spoilt fish have been discovered from the main office of Ceylon Fisheries Corporation at Rockwell House Avenue in Mutuwal.
Residents complained to our news team that the stock of fish is stinking for the last two weeks in the premises.
Meanwhile journalists who visited the scene today were able to witness the 8 months stock was being buried in the premises.
Meanwhile Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has instructed Acting Chairman of the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation S. Balasubramanium to conduct an immediate inquiry into the incident.
However, the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Ministry said in its statement that minister Amaraweera has instructed authorities to ascertain who had caused this huge loss to the corporation and take immediate action to charge the loss from the person whoever is responsible for the offence.
