Dealers said that the Sri Lankan rupee was steady on Monday as dollar sales by exporters were offset by importer demand for the greenback in dull trade.

The spot rupee traded steady at between 145 rupees and 50 cents to 145 rupees and 55 cents per dollar, little changed from Friday’s close of 145 rupees and 50 cents to 145 rupees and 52 cents.

According to a currency dealer, no big importer demand or large exporter bills were seen, and trading was dull yesterday.
