Dealers have said that the Sri Lankan rupee traded weaker on Friday as importer dollar demand surpassed inward remittances of the U.S. currency amid a lack of exporter conversions.

The spot rupee was between 145 rupees and 10 cents to 15 cents per dollar, compared with Thursday’s close of between 145 rupees and 145 rupees and 15 cents.

One-week forwards were at 145 rupees and 25 to 35 cents, compared with the previous day’s close of 145 rupees and 15 to 30 cents.
