Sri Lankan rupee slips on seasonal importer dollar demand

The Sri Lankan rupee ended weaker on Monday as seasonal demand for dollar from importers exceeded sales by exporters and banks.

The spot-next forwards, which were actively traded, ended between 146 rupees and 38 cents to 146 rupees and 48 cents per dollar, edging down from Friday’s close of 146 rupees and 30 to 40 cents.

One-week forwards were between 146 rupees and 50 to 68 cents, weaker from Friday’s close of 146 rupees and 45 to 55 cents.
