Vegetable prices across the island has plummeted after the yield from Jaffna reached markets, farmers and vendors say.

At the Dambulla Economic Center a kilo of cabbage and leeks is sold at Rs. 14, and a kilo of carrot, eggplant, radish, dambala are sold at Rs. 10-20.

Prices have reduced as vegetables grown in the hill country such as carrot, leeks and beans are received from the Jaffna peninsula.
