Turnover at the Colombo Stock Exchange improved to Rs. 2.44 billion today (04) despite only 38.6 million shares were traded.

The foreigners dominated the market.

The All Share Price Index improved by 12.87 points to 6,507.09 while S&P SL20 rose by 31.51 to end trading at 3,784.38.

Crossings were witnessed in Commercial Bank and Hatton National Bank, accounting for 74.5% of turnover.

Mixed interest was observed in Lanka Orix Leasing Company and LOLC Finance whilst retail interest was noted in Lanka Cement.

Meanwhile, foreigners remained active closing as net buyers mainly due to foreign purchasing in Commercial Bank.

Total foreign purchases accounted for 81.2% of turnover.

The net foreign inflow for the day was Rs. 1.9 billion and the annual foreign inflow to date was Rs. 19.4 billion.
