After a long weekend, the trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange commenced trading for a new week in a lackluster mood.

The All Share Price Index lost 18.75 to close the session at 6,602.72 while S&P SL20 shed 15.23 to end the day at 3,883.18.

Losses in counters such as Sri Lanka Telecom, John Keells Holdings, and Hatton National Bank dragged the ASPI down.

High net worth and institutional investor participation were witnessed in John Keells Holdings, Hemas Holdings, Nestle Lanka and Sampath Bank.

Retail interest was noted in Malwatte Valley Plantations.

Meanwhile, foreigners remained active closing as net buyers mainly due to foreign purchasing in John Keells Holdings.

Share volume was 11.3 million while turnover was Rs. 588.3 million.

Both turnover and volume declined while a high foreign participation led to a net foreign inflow into the market.
