The Central Bank confirms that Sri Lanka will receive the final installment of the International Monetary Fund loan in the near future.
A senior spokesperson for the central bank speaking to our news team stated that all discussions regarding this have been concluded.
A group of IMF representatives arrived in the island last week and have been researching several areas.
The executive board of the IMF met in April this year and Executive Director Min Zhu noted that they considered the government’s steps to create economic stability in the country.
The final IMF installment is 427 million dollars and will carry a 3.3% interest as opposed to the 1% interest rate on the previous instalments.
