The Sri Lanka Motor Vehicle Importers Association states that around 40,000 vehicles are currently stock piled at various locations unable to be sold, due to the increase in leasing unsettlements.
Chairman of the Association Indika Sampath Speaking to our news team expressed the following views in this regard.
Meanwhile vehicle importers have held discussions with Secretary to the Ministry of Finance P.B. Jayasundara.
During the meeting attention had been particularly focussed on the decision to re-ship the surplus of vehicles to Myanmar while the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance had pledged his support to facilitate the process.
