The Central Bank of Sri Lanka realised a massive profit of 430 million dollars from its reserve management activities in 2011.

 According to an extensive research by an expert team from the University of Colombo, the CBSL’s profits of  430 million dollars on its average reserves of just of 6.5 billion dollars was substantially higher, both in absolute and percentage terms, than that earned by the US Federal Reserve Bank in 2011.

The reserve management activities of the US Federal Reserve only generated a profit 401 million dollars on a reserve of 42 billion dollars or just 0.9 percent.
