Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal said yesterday, that Sri Lankas currency will "behave in a stable manner" in the next few months as the central bank has taken steps needed to deal with a volatile environment.

The Sri Lankan rupee hit a record low of 135 rupees and 20 cents against the U.S. dollar on Aug. 28th, but since then has risen 3.2 percent, helped by inflows from a corporate bond.

On Friday, it was trading at between 131 rupees and 30 cents to 131 rupees and 50 cents per dollar, near its 2-1/2-month high.
