Trade between Korea and Sri Lanka after a decline in 2012 has increased last year. The amount of trade between the two countries reached a record 84 million US dollars by the end of last year. This figure stood at 72 million in 2012.
Reports state, that direct air-links by Korean Air too has helped to increase trade.
It added that tourism too would increase this year with Korean arrivals to increase by over 35%. Investment to Sri Lanka from Korea reached 175 million US dollars in 2013.
