Lanka aims for US$ 4.2 b tourism revenue

Sri Lanka is aiming to generate a revenue in the excess of 4.2 billion dollars from tourism in 2016.

In addition the island will also look at attracting 2.5 million arrivals for 2016.

These would be more than a 50% increase of revenue and arrivals from the 2013 figure.

Sri Lanka is already experiencing new record visitor numbers and a total of 1.27 million visitors in 2013, an increase of an enormous 26.7 percent compared to the previous year.
