Japan's State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kazuyoshi Akaba called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday.

The primary focus of the discussion was enhancing the trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Akaba said that among the several million companies operating in Japan, more than 90 percent are small and medium enterprises that are trying to find new locations for investment for which Sri Lanka could be an option.
