Omani praise for Seylan Bank staff training

Seylan Bank recently conducted a week-long intensive training programme for the staff of Asia Express Exchange based in Oman.

Among the topics covered during the comprehensive training were important aspects of banking, cash handling techniques, remittance operations, customer care and service. Added to this were also areas like such as KYC (know your customer) norms to be followed, AML (anti-money laundering) compliance / guidelines, dealing with different local and foreign currency notes and detecting fake currency notes.

At the conclusion of their stay in Colombo, the thirteen member team led by Lathish Vichitran, Deputy General Manager of Asia Express Exchange was full of praise for the comprehensive training sessions conducted by the team of banking professionals from Seylan Bank.

“This was a very fruitful and memorable visit to Sri Lanka. My team and I were well received by the staff of Seylan Bank in Colombo. The training session was very beneficial in that we learnt a lot about the finer points of the areas we work in. We shall certainly share this learning with our colleagues back home”, said Lathish Vichitran, Deputy General Manager of Asia Express Exchange.

Expressing his thanks to Seylan Bank, the HR Manager of Asia Express Exchange in Oman, Mohammad Ali Al Kiyumi said, “We are constantly upgrading the skills of our staff to enable them to give a fully streamlined product offering to our thousands of customers. The feedback I’ve got from the members of our team has been very positive and we thus look forward to working with Seylan Bank in the future too”.

Deputy General Manager – International of Seylan Bank Aruna Ranasinghe said, “We have a very large and continuously growing customer base in the Middle East, especially in Oman. We thus felt it important to share our expertise and knowhow with Asia Express Exchange to facilitate and thus ensure a more streamlined service which will be of benefit to our thousands of customers in the Oman”.
