Vegetable prices have increased due to the rainy weather condition prevalent island-wide.

The Hector Kobbaekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute said that vegetable prices had increased by about 50 per cent

There is a decrease in the upcountry and low country supply of vegetables due to the rainfall preceding the Yala season harvest.

Upcountry vegetables such as beans, carrots, Leaks, cabbage and beet root are currently priced in the market ranging from 80 rupees to 120 rupees.
