As part of its effort to find interesting opportunities to facilitate retail for Sri Lankan designers, CFW presented the first-ever Design Trunk Show at the Galle Face Hotel this November. The Design Trunk Show provided an interactive environment for the established and up-and-coming Sri Lankan designers who regularly showcase their work at CFW. The evening was filled with jazz, blues, a delicate array of cheese and wines as well as a variety of exquisite designs that lit up the runway.
The 24-hour Design Trunk Show featured 10 of Sri Lanka’s leading fashion designers who previously partnered with CFW. Top designers who unveiled seasonal collections at the show included Sonali Dharmawardena, Yoland Aluwihare, U by Upeksha, Charini Suriyage, Conscience for Land Rover, RAMONA OSHINI, INDI by Indeevari Yapa, Stefel by Peronie, Yasisurie and Aale by Radhika. For the Design Trunk Show, CFW also partnered with Land Rover and Tiesh. The collections will be available soon on CFW Curates, an online retail portal that takes the fashion retail experience online, by providing an effective online channel for designers to reach their customers.
Commenting on the show, Ajai V Singh, President, Colombo Fashion Week stated, “The first CFW Design Trunk show was a good start, the concept worked and the feedback was encouraging. We at CFW are happy that an interesting retail platform got started. We want Sri Lankan fashion designers to have successful businesses and we will do our bit to provide such a platform.”
With 11 years of experience as a leader in the fashion industry, CFW has embraced the very latest retail trends and opportunities that exist both online and offline for Sri Lankan designers. CFW plans to further expand this retail platform to create interesting opportunities for Sri Lankan fashion designers, enabling them to effectively reach customers across Sri Lanka and the world.
