Film director Quentin Tarantino has defended violence in movies following Friday's shootings in a Connecticut school, which left 26 dead.

The director said he was tired of defending his films each time the US is shocked by gun violence, adding "tragedies happen".

But lead actor, Jamie Foxx, said big screen violence can influence people.

A press junket for Django, Tarantino's latest violent movie, went ahead in New York on Saturday.
