A newly-discovered tarantula species has been named after late Beatles star John Lennon.

The nocturnal Bumba lennoni has been found in Brazil.

In a report in the online science journal Zoo Keys, one of the researchers says, "The specific name is patronymic in honour of John Winston Lennon, the legendary creator of The Beatles, who contributed to make this world a gentler place."
