George Harrison's Childhood Home Sells For $249,000
The childhood home of late Beatles star George Harrison has sold at auction for 89,600 dollars more than the original estimate.
The three-bedroom terraced house in Liverpool, England was originally expected to make 160,000 dollars, but it exceeded expectations by selling for 249,000 dollars, when it went under the hammer at an auction held in the band's former gig venue, the Cavern Club, on Monday.
The highest bidder, a Beatles fan from London, is now the owner of the guitarist's former home, where he lived throughout the 1950s and rehearsed with his bandmates before they found fame.
