Sri Lanka go into the Group A clash against Bangladesh (BD) on the heels of their triumph against Afghanistan. Sri Lanka supporters assembled at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne (MCG) to watch their stars take to the field.

Sri Lanka ended up with 332 runs in their fixed 50 overs with Sangakkara not out on 105 and Dilshan unbeaten on 161.

Chasing 333 for victory, Bangladesh got off to a terrible start losing opener Tamim Iqbal for a duck.

Bangladesh only succeeded to score 240 runs before being bowled out in 47 overs. Lasith Malinga took 3 wickets while Suranga Lakmal and T.M. Dilshan claimed 2 wickets each.

T.M. Dilshan walked away with the man of the match award.
