Fantasy Comedy Monster Hunt Has Become China's Highest-grossing Domestic Film After Smashing The Nation's Box Office Records.

The movie, a mix of live-action and animation, has grossed $212 million since its release on 16TH July, easily surpassing 2012's road trip comedy Lost in Thailand, which held the previous record with a $205 million.

Reports suggest a sequel to Monster Hunt, from by Raman Hui, who co-directed Shrek the Third in 2007, is already in the works.
