All Ceylon General Ports Employees’ Union has written to President Maithripala Sirisena requesting him not to sell the East terminal and Jaya Container Terminal of the Colombo Port.

In the letter the General Secretary of the union Chandrasiri Mahagamage stated that the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Arjuna Ranatunga has requested approval to sell them.
