The husband caught his wife violently striking their 21-month-old son and trying to strangle him after setting up the security feed.

The sickening footage captured in Bareilly, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, shows the woman lifting the toddler above her head by his neck before tossing him across the bed.

She the proceeds to strike him several times, with her child laying on his front she begins to shake him violently.

In a strange turn of events, she then begins to clap her knees as if she was singing a song to him.

Talking to local media, the child’s father said he put the camera up as he had concerns his wife was physically assaulting their child.

He said: "I often noticed swelling and bruises on my child’s body.

"I suspected that my wife beats our son, hence I got a CCTV camera installed in the house. I am very worried and have approached the court."
