Karuna+Amman+released+on+bail

Former deputy minister Vinayagamurthi Muralidaran alias Karuna Amman was released on bail today.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya released the suspect on a one million rupees cash bail and 4 surety bails of 5 million rupees each.

The Magistrate also banned overseas travel for the suspect and ordered him to report to the FCID every Sunday.

In addition, the Magistrate informed the authorities to provide ministerial security to the suspect.

Muralidaran was arrested by the FCID on November 29thin connection with misuse of vehicles that belonged to the then Presidential Secretariat during the previous regime.
