Discussion+between+Chief+Ministers+and+Former+President+ends+without+consensus
The discussion that took place this morning between former president Mahinda Rajapaksa and Chief Ministers representing the SLFP concluded without reaching a consensus.

Along with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Parliamentarians representing the Joint Opposition - Bandula Gunawardena, Prasanna Ranathunga, Johnston Fernando, Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena and Gamini Lokuge taken part in the discussion.

Furthermore, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, Professor G.L.Peiris too had participated in the discussion.

6 out of the 7 SLFP Chief Ministers participated in the discussion while Chief Minister of North Central Province, Peshala Jayarathna was absent.

Speaking to our news team after the discussion, Chief Minister of the Central Province, Sarath Ekanayake stated that an agreement on how to contest at the upcoming local government elections was not reached at the discussion.
