Rescue operations continue on today in search of victims that were on the boat that capsized at sea, 3 km off Katukurunda beach yesterday.

A total of 41 passengers were on board at the time of the accident.

At this stage the bodies of, 7 women, 3 men and an eight year old child have been recovered

Navy Lieutenant Commander Chaminda Walakuluge stated that 2 Dora boats, 3 Dinghies and 15 navy divers have been deployed for the ongoing search operation.

The ill-fated boat was part of a boat parade celebrating the annual feast of St. Lazarus Church in Beruwala.
