Government Medical Officers Association says that they will be refraining  from providing all medical services including engaging in private clinics if the request on legalizing the minimum standard for education in medicine, presented to the minister of health, does not receive a response by the 30th of this month. 

Meanwhile a group of officers from the Sri Lanka Medical council had provided evidence with regard to the approval of SAITM medical university to the COPE committee which is conducting an investigation.

It has been reported that the SLMC had provided evidence noting that there had been many discrepancies with regard to the approval of the institution.
