A woman, aged 35 and mother of two, has shot and killed her husband and stashed his body in a suitcase in hopes of discarding it in Mohali city of Punjab near Chandigarh.
The incident has taken place on Saturday night, Indian police says.
The body was found when a group of tree-wheeler drivers saw the bloodied suitcase near a car and informed the police. It was revealed later that the woman was planning to put the suitcase into her car, a BMW, and take it away.
The deceased was identified as Ekam Dhillon, aged 40.
SHO Mataur Police Station, Bajjinder Singh Pannu was reported saying, "We have registered a case against Seerat Kaur (the wife), her mother and brother. Though the motive of the murder is not clear, but primarily it appears to be a case of strained relations between a husband and wife. We have sent police teams to nab the accused who will be arrested soon. The investigation is on.”
The wife has surrendered to the police.
