US is planning to ban passengers travelling on airline flights with electronic devices.

The ban will apply to devices larger than a mobile phone, the official said.

This move comes in response to an unspecified terrorism threat.

The new rule is expected to be announced Tuesday by the Department of Homeland Security, the officials said, adding that it had been under consideration since the U.S. government learned of a threat several weeks ago, foreign media states.
