IUSF+launches+a+petition+with+the+support+of+2.5+million+public+signatures

IUSF launched a public petition making several demands including that Malabe Private Medical School be shut down.

They expect to collect 2.5 million signatures on their anti SAITM petition.

The Convener of the campaign Lahiru Weerasekera who participated in the launch at the Fort Railway Station told our news team that the campaign will circulate around the island to gather signatures.

Meanwhile the parents’ guild of SAITM convened a media conference in Colombo yesterday.

Association Chairman T.M.T.K. Tennakoon told journalists that he feels that Sri Lanka requires more private medical colleges like SAITM are necessary.

The GMOA requested that the IGP to draw his attention to SAITM and initiate a proper investigation looking into the operation of the college.

GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge stated this during a media conference held in Colombo yesterday.
