Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has instructed his ministry secretary to conduct an immediate inquiry with regard to the decision by Kingswood College Kandy to deny a group of students’ the opportunity to sit the term test yesterday.
Accordingly, the principal of the college has also been asked to show cause for the decision.
Parents of the discriminated students exposed the woe to our news team which we aired yesterday.
Later the Kingswood principal told us that students from low income families should prove their inability to pay the school development committee fee with a certification from the Graamasevaka.
