The Chairperson of National Child Protection Authority, Doctor Natasha Balendra has resigned from her position.

According to the Child Protection Authority, the chairperson has resigned in line with a personal concern.

Meanwhile, President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed Attorney Marini De Livera as the new Chairperson of National Child Protection Authority.

De Livera who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in LLB is a postgraduate in Human Resource Management.

Moreover, she has rendered her service as a committee member of the committee for child soldier rehabilitation and the committee for amending the protection from domestic violence act, previously.
