Kasbawe+magistrate+issues+restraining+order+preventing+garbage+dumping+to+Karadiyana

The Kesbewa Magistrate Court issued a restraining order agasint the transportation of garbage from Colombo to karadiyaana and dumping the load at the Garbage Yard.

The order was issued after consideration was given to a motion filed by environmental organizations and residents of the area.

After the announcement of the Court order, JVP Provincial Councilor Attorney-at-law Sunil Watagala expressed his views to the media in this manner.

Protests continue to be held against dumping garbage at the Karadiyaana Garbage yard, in spite of the fact that the Court order giving permission to do so expired today.

Residents and local politicians are currently engaged in a protest in front of Kesbewa Magistrate Court due to this fact.

Meanwhile our correspondents stated that black flags have been hoisted in Boralesgamuwa and Bokundara in protest of garbage being dumped at  Karadiyaana garbage yard.
