Chief Operations Officer C H R T Chandrasiri said that the SLFP had requested for 1537 buses, UNP 1432 buses, JVP 209 buses and Joint Opposition 22 buses respectively.
He further stated that booking fees had been received by now and the SLTB had recorded an income of nearly 40 Million Rupees as a result.
Meanwhile Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association Gamunu Wijerathna stated that nearly 7000 private buses had also been requested for May Day Rallies.
Also buses carrying supporters for the May Day will be allowed to use the Expressways free of charge.
