The ongoing investigations revealed that the National Building Research Organization has not given approval for the construction of the collapsed building on Charley man Road Wellawatta yesterday.

It is also suspicion whether the constructors had obtained approval on the quality standard of the building from Colombo Municipal Council.

A group of officials affiliated to national Building Research Organizations is also visiting the ill fated building site at this moment.

Disaster Management Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa also inspected the scene yesterday night. After his visit to the site, the minister said that the relevant local government institution should be held responsible for the lack of quality standard if any.

Meanwhile, rescue operations are continuing in search of another two persons believed to have been trapped inside the building.

Rescue operations are being carried out with the support of the Army, Air Force, Police and Fire Fighting Units.
