Periodic strong winds reaching up to 50 kilo meters per hour  can be expected throughout  the island.

Winds expected to reach 60 to 70 km per hour in the surrounding sea areas up to 60 to 70 kilo meters per hour.

Wet weather conditions are expected to continue over the south-western part of the island.

Showers or thunderstorms will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-western provinces.

The Meteorology Department has stated that although heavy rainfall is being  experienced in the south Western province, the Northern, North Central and Eastern provinces are yet to receive sufficient rainfall.

CEB Media Spokesman Sulakshana Jayawardana said that the catchment areas of the main reservoirs have not, at this time, received adequate rainfall.
