151 individuals have died while 111 others are reported missing due to the disaster situation affecting 15 districts in the island.

Colombo, Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Kalutara, Ratnapura, Kegalle, Gampaha, Kandy, Matale, Trincomalee, Mullaitivu, Vavunia and Batticaloa districts were affected by inclement weather conditions.

438 thousand 295 persons belonging to 112 thousand 565 families have been affected in these districts.

Most number of deaths have been reported from the Ratnapura district which stands at 71 while 47 deaths were reported from Kalutara and 14 from Matara.

Addressing a media briefing at the Disaster Management centre , Health Minister Rajitha Senaratha stated that 203 houses have been completely damaged.
