Update+-++Disaster+death+toll+rises+to+183%3B+Heavy+rainfall+in+flooded+areas.

As a consequence of the severe weather, the death toll has risen to 183.

The latest communiqué issued by the Disaster Management Centre states that 109 persons have been injured, whilst 103 persons have been reported missing.

At this stage, 79 persons , the highest number of deaths reported from anyone area has been in Ratnapura district

54 persons died in Kalutara district and 24 deaths were reported in Matara.

Meanwhile, as a total , 545 thousand and 283 persons have been affected by the severe weather.

640 houses have been completely destroyed, and 5329 houses have been damaged.

At this stage, 77 persons , the highest number of deaths has been reported from Ratnapura district

54 persons died in Kalutara district and 24 deaths were reported in Matara.

Meanwhile, as a total , 588 thousand and 082 persons have been affected by the severe weather.
